New 28mm Chicago buildings

Adding a few more buildings to the Chicago fire station which started off the range we have a selection taken from period photographs of Chicago. These can be used for Gangster games and Pulp fiction etc. The reverse of the signs are plain and can be used to draw your own names.

Chicago hotel and shops.

These 2 buildings were taken from the same photograph and were side by side.

The original picture had 4 shops but these can be placed side by side for a longer row.

The wording on this warehouse is as in the period photograph. No mention of Chicago so it can be used in a variety of settings.

The signs on this one were suggested by my website manager. Apparently 'Cones Place' was code for 'booze sold here' during prohibition.

Differences in detail from the Chicago Hotel.

This range will be sold as unpainted kits due to the amount of exposed cuts on the models.

Last game of the year? Black Powder Napoleonics

In what looks like being our last game before going into winter quarters we played a Black Powder encounter between Darrens French with John taking the right wing and my Prussians with Carl also taking the right.

I threw out the fusilier battalion from the 8th line but they quickly came under concentrated fire from the French becoming disordered. 

The same happened to the volunteer Jaeger, the brigade then failed its command roll!

On the right the Prussian Garde du Corps advanced.

Polish lancers attack Silesian Landwehr

Not surprisingly the Landwehr ran away. 

On the right the Gard du Corps had more success.

Following on after defeating the dragoons but just failing to push them off the table.

The other division of Garde du Corps did less well being forced to retire.

Across on the other wing French cavalry charged the vulnerable Volunteer jaeger with predictable results.

With things not going so well on the flanks the Prussian infantry decided they had nothing to lose and attempted to assault the brigade facing them. For a change non of these units were disordered.

The cavalry battle on the left saw both brigades broken and removed from the field.

A Prussian battalion attacks French light infantry while the rest of the brigade is involved in a firefight.

This proved ineffective and with both Prussian cavalry brigades broken a French victory was declared. Most commanders had a command rating of 7 but the French gained by being in column and having Pas de Charge to improve their chances of obeying orders. The Prussians failed to move more often than not and also usually had disordered units unable to advance.

I haven't played BP for some time and was quickly reminded that small Brigades don't last long! It's a lesson i won't forget!

  28mm Caravansary

Starting off with something different we have a couple of 28mm Caravansary. These were like Ancient motels providing a safe haven for travellers and their animals all the way from Eastern Europe to China and proliferated along the Silk Road. They have been common from Ancient times to the modern era.
